BAD News!!!
Currently the weather is very warm here in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. We have now had warm waether With temperatures around zero for several weeks, but now it seems to get even warmer.

This is the temperature today:
+6,2 degrees at 10m elevation and 5,5 degrees at 2m elevation in Adventdalen (Longyearbyen)

There is coming more and more daylight now. The twilight period has begun and by the end of the week we will have day sun :D

the milkyway

 
Friday night on a cabin trip 16 km away from Longyearbyen I managed to get this photo. The town-light from Longyearbyen is being reflected on low clouds and above that the milky way can be seen.
Camera setting was 4000 iso, 30 sec, 2.8 F and 16 mm.

New web camera on Svalbard

A new web camera has been added to the Svalbard collection.
This time it is a camera standing on Lunckefjellet, our newly opened mine. The camera is not as advanced as the ones in Svea in Longyearbyen, but will give a good view of the weather and activities at Lunckefjellet.
